The *Boy Meets World *cast and *Clueless' *Elisa Donovan recently bonded over working with the late Brittany Murphy.

On the latest episode of *Pod Meets World*, cohost Danielle Fishel brought up the shared connection to Donovan. The *Clueless *star noted that Murphy's absence has been felt during the promotion of the movie's 30th anniversary.

"She should be doing these things," Donovan said. "She should be here. It's really hard and really odd. And because, you know, especially for me, because I feel like I have filled this spot that should be hers in doing a lot of the press."

Murphy also guest starred on two episodes of *Boy Meets World*. She played Trini Martin, best friend of Topanga (Fishel), on season 3 of the sitcom.

Murphy died in 2009 of pneumonia and combined drug intoxication. She was 32. The actress was known for her roles in *8 Mile, Uptown Girls, King of the Hill, and Girl, Interrupted. *One of her most memorable roles was as new girl Tai in *Clueless.*

"She was so special," Donovan said. "She had this way of making you feel like she was elated to see you every time. It breaks my heart. I wish that she was taken care of better."

Alongside its anniversary celebrations, *Clueless* is getting a new sequel series on Peacock. Alicia Silverstone will return as the iconic Cher Horowitz. While it's unclear if the show will pay tribute to the late Murphy, Silverstone recently said she wants to "honor what everyone loves about *Clueless* and Cher."
