Whatever happened to easy squeeze bottles?
Country singer Carly Pearce was briefly hospitalized over the weekend after accidentally slicing her thumb with a glass ranch bottle. In a humorous "get ready with me" video on TikTok captioned "brb avoiding all ranch," the Grammy winner, 35, detailed the not so flavorful ordeal of being transported via ambulance to the hospital after slicing her hand during an post-concert dinner.
"Get ready with me with one hand," Pearce quipped. "So I was getting ready to eat dinner after my show and I went to open a bottle of ranch dressing that was a glass bottle. When I went to open the bottle of ranch, it snapped off and a piece of glass cut my thumb."**
Pearce initially figured that "ketchup was running down my hand," but it turned out to be blood, she said. “We had a few paramedics on-site at the show, so we decided just to have a look at it, and they told me I needed a few stitches.” The wound, it turns out, was quite deep.
“What I didn’t know was that the ride to the ER would be in an ambulance and it’s policy that the patient has to sit on the stretcher and be strapped in,” Pearce said. Following an X-ray, the country singer was stitched up and given a "very painful" numbing cream for the crease of her thumb, where the wound in question is located.**

“Now I am so grateful that it was not worse, and that obviously I am going to be fine in like a week, but it is interesting trying to figure out how to do these normal things, like pull your pants up after you pee," Pearce said.****The "moral of the story"? "Be careful when you’re opening up things, and don’t go, like my mother says, that I do, like a bull in a china cabinet," she added.**

Pearce is currently amidst her Hummingbird World Tour, launched in support of her fourth studio album of the same name. Her next stop is at the The Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa, Calif., where she may or may not sport a bedazzled thumb bandage onstage.
The "Every Little Thing" singer made headlines last year when she shared that she was diagnosed with pericarditis, a heart condition characterized by swelling and irritation of tissues surrounding the heart. "I still want to be out on the road; it’s really important to me, but we have all decided that it is in my best interest as I’m healing to alter my shows a little bit," Pearce said.
"I’m a young, healthy person that really watches what I eat and exercises and this happened to me," Pearce added. "I just want to use my platform to tell you to take care of your body and listen to it and just know that if it’s trying to tell you something, it’s going to tell you."
