It didn't take much convincing to get Demi Lovato back onstage with her old camp pals.
Over the weekend, Lovato and three of her fellow Disney Channel alums sent thousands of fans into a nostalgia-fueled spiral by reuniting to sing a few songs from their *Camp Rock *repertoire. Looking back on her surprise appearance at Sunday's Jonas Brothers concert, Lovato shared that it all began when she got a call from her ex-boyfriend and former costar, Joe Jonas.
"[He] was like, 'Hey, what are you doing next weekend on the 10th? We would love to have you come and perform 'This Is Me' and 'Wouldn’t Change a Thing.' You’ve been a huge part of our journey and … this show is really important to us and we would love to have you there,'" Lovato recounted during a recent visit to the *Chicks in the Office* podcast. "It was so nice. We’ve been through so much together, all of us, the Jonas Brothers and I, and it was really, really great to spend time with them."
The "Fast" singer added that before the concert began, she got to share a cathartic moment with the brothers and her husband, Jordan "Jutes" Lutes, whom she married earlier this summer.

"They came to my room all three of them and spent time getting to know my husband, which was really meaningful to me," Lovato said. "And they just thanked me profusely for flying across the country to perform with them and it was just so thoughtful and I felt so appreciated and it was really healing for us. I loved it. Every second of it was so great."
As for whether she had any hesitations about getting back onstage with Joe, Nick, and Kevin after so many years, Lovato shook her head, sharing that she instantly said, "Let's do this." She explained that not only is she personally at a point where she's happy to embrace nostalgia, but she was extra excited to revisit a very "meaningful" song from her past.**

"'This Is Me' is my first big song that I’ve ever had," she said. "So getting to perform that with them for the first time in God knows how many years was just so full circle and so special and it was great to see them."
The Sunday concert saw Joe, Nick, and Kevin kick off their 20th Anniversary tour, celebrating a new album and 20 years since the brothers first formed their band. After treating fans to a few of their old hits, the Jonas Brothers welcomed Lovato to the stage for yet another blast from their past. She then performed her climactic *Camp Rock* solo, "This Is Me," while Joe harmonized with his own song from the movie, "Gotta Find You." They finished things off with their *Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam *duet, "Wouldn't Change a Thing."
While "This Is Me" obviously holds a special place in Lovato's heart (and memory), she admitted that she needed a little lyrics refresher before she was ready for the duet. "Once I listened to it a few times, it all came back to me," she said. "We finished soundcheck and Joe was like, 'Yeah, we still got it.'"

The nostalgia tour didn't end there: Lovato took an even more thorough stroll down memory lane before flying out for the JoBros concert. After learning that one of her best friends had never seen *Camp Rock 2*, she decided it was time to revisit both films.
"I was like, 'Bitch, we're watching it.' So we watched the first one and I cringed out of my soul, but I loved every second," she shared "And we watched the second one the next night, and it was so fun."

After referring to each movie, and album, from her Disney era as a scrapbook of sorts, Lovato explained, "I don't just see a project that I worked on, I see a collection of memories that really fulfilled me and gave me so much life at a dark point in my life. I was kind of struggling when I was working on those projects but those projects brought me so much joy."
