Tattoos and parents don't really mix well, and Taron Egerton learned that fact while contemplating getting inked for his new movie.
In *She Rides Shotgun*, Egerton plays an ex-con who has a lot of fake tattoos, including a chili pepper behind his ear.
"Applied daily, took about an hour," Egerton told Seth Meyers on Tuesday's *Late Night*. "I quite enjoyed it. Made me feel very tough."
In fact, Egerton loved the ink and his experience filming the movie so much that he actually considered getting the chili tattooed for real on his neck.
"I actually nearly did a crazy thing," Egerton said. "I was all ready and booked to get that tattooed on my head on the last day of the shoot, in that spot. I don't know what earth I was thinking actually, but I really was ready to do it."

The movie's makeup artist set up the tattoo appointment for him with a local artist in New Mexico, where the film was shot.
"But the thing that happened that I hadn't anticipated was the last day of the shoot, my mom was in town," Egerton revealed. "The makeup artist had set it up about halfway through the day, and she said, 'You're all set for this evening.' And I just panicked immediately."
Egerton remembered going very stiff as he realized his mom was about to learn his plans to get a neck tattoo.

"My mom went, 'I beg your pardon?'" the actor continued. "And I went, 'Well, I'm going to get this tattoo. I've had a really good, really spiritual [time], Mom. I want to commemorate it.' And she did this classic mom thing where she was looking at me and she just [turned away]."
As the audience laughed, Egerton added, "Panicked, and canceled it immediately."
